The corridor ecosystem suffers from fragmentation. Investors talk to investors. Governments talk to governments. Communities talk to no one with power. Our convenings create the spaces where these groups engage constructively — producing actionable outcomes rather than performative dialogue.
Annual Lobito Corridor Forum
Inaugural Forum — Geneva, 2028
Our flagship annual convening will bring together 150–200 corridor stakeholders in Geneva — the city that hosts the commodity traders who move African minerals, the international organisations that set standards, and the development finance institutions that fund the corridor. Plenary sessions, working groups, bilateral meeting facilitation, and networking across stakeholder categories.
Balanced attendance: Investors and corporates pay full registration; civil society and community representatives receive subsidised or complimentary registration.
Target: 250 participants by Year 5, generating EUR 75,000 in event revenue.
Registration opens: 2027
Thematic Dialogues
Throughout the year, we convene focused dialogues on specific corridor challenges. These smaller gatherings enable deeper engagement than the annual forum format, designed to produce concrete outcomes: agreed principles, pilot programmes, or specific commitments from participants.
Resettlement Practices
International standards, DRC Mining Code requirements, community consultation best practices, and fair compensation frameworks.
Artisanal Mining Integration
Formalisation pathways, traceability systems, child labour elimination, and the role of EGC in creating ethical supply chains.
Transport Cost Equity
Ensuring corridor tariffs serve local economies — not just mineral exports — following the tenfold cost increase reported since privatisation.
Environmental Management
Water use, biodiversity protection, tailings disposal, and climate resilience across corridor operations and associated mining.
Investor-Community Exchanges
Structured encounters bringing investors and verified community representatives into direct dialogue outside adversarial contexts. Community participants are verified through our verified verification system, ensuring investors engage with legitimate voices. These exchanges build relationships and mutual understanding that facilitate constructive resolution of specific issues.
